A new PSN server outage is reported today by fans, with Sony providing the latest updates on its PlayStation Network server status issues.
And as confirmed by the tech company, most of the core online and multiplayer services usually available on PS4 and PS5 consoles are offline.
It’s unclear what has caused today’s outage, or how long it might last across all platforms.
Here are the latest details shared by Sony regarding the April 13 PSN server network outage.
PSN Servers Are Down On PS4 & PS5 Consoles
Sony has confirmed that most core online services provided by the PlayStation Network are down tonight. No ETA has been given on when regular service will be resumed, and we also don’t know why PSN servers are down tonight. Here are the latest statements from Sony regarding today’s PlayStation Network issues:
“You might have difficulty launching games, apps, or network features. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
“You might have difficulty streaming PlayStation Now games. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
“You might have difficulty getting products on PlayStation Direct. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
Gamers on PS4 and PS5 consoles also report a problem that ends in a ws-37469-9 Error Message. Here is the official explanation for this error message and what it might mean:
WS-37469-9 – Means Failed to connect to the server.
- Check the PlayStation Network status page.
- Turn off your router, wait at least 5 minutes, then restart it. Please try again later.
None of the solutions listed will help end tonight’s issues, as they are almost certainly internal PlayStation Network problems. Based on the thousands of reports coming in, tonight’s PSN server status issues are part of a major outage that could last longer than usual. However, with Sony actively looking to solve problems tonight, fans will hope that they won’t be stuck waiting around for online access for too long.
